Hollycast Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This policy explains how the Hollycast Android app, package com.hollycast.emu, handles information. Hollycast is provided by Nexus222. For privacy questions or requests, contact tnt.studios.607@gmail.com.

Files and information on your device

Hollycast accesses the game files and folders you select to build your library and run games. It stores settings, controller mappings, game metadata, artwork, memory-card files, save states and caches on your device. These files are used to provide emulator features. Selecting a game file does not, by itself, upload the full game to Nexus222.

Online features and third parties

Some features connect to outside services. Those services receive the network information needed to respond, including your IP address and the information sent for that feature:

Third-party services handle the information they receive under their own policies. See the RetroAchievements privacy policy and GitHub privacy statement, and contact TheGamesDB for its privacy information. Check the privacy information of any custom server you configure.

Permissions

You can manage permissions through Android settings. Denying a permission can prevent the related feature from working.

Android backup and device transfer

Hollycast supports Android backup and restore. Depending on your device and backup settings, Android may back up app configuration, controller mappings and files in the app's data directory through your backup provider. Save states can also be included in direct device-to-device transfers. Configuration can contain saved service usernames or authentication tokens. Manage backups through your Android and backup-provider settings.

Support and diagnostic information

If you contact Nexus222, we receive your email address and the messages, logs, screenshots or other files you choose to send. Diagnostic files may contain device information, game names, file paths and settings. We use this information to respond, investigate problems and improve Hollycast. Review attachments and remove passwords, tokens or unrelated personal information before sending them.

Use, sharing and security

Information is used to provide the features described above and respond to support requests. Nexus222 does not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information may be disclosed when necessary to comply with applicable law. Network security also depends on the service or custom server you use; legacy game protocols may not encrypt traffic. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.

Retention, deletion and your choices

Local app information remains until you delete it, clear app storage or uninstall Hollycast. Files in folders outside app-managed storage and existing backups may remain and must be deleted separately. You can disable artwork downloads, sign out of RetroAchievements and stop using online features. Deleting local files does not delete information already held by third-party services; contact those services for their retention and deletion options.

Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to address the request and related follow-up, or meet legal obligations. To request access, correction or deletion of personal information you provided directly to Nexus222, email tnt.studios.607@gmail.com. We may need information to verify the request.

Website visit and download-link counts

The Hollycast website and downloads page record page views and clicks on download links so Nexus222 can see how the site is used. Each record contains a time, the page address without its query string, the download address when a link is clicked, and a short page or link label. These counters do not store visitors' IP addresses, create visitor profiles, or use visitor tracking cookies. Counts represent events, not unique people or completed downloads.

These records are stored privately on the website server and are accessible to the website owner. Records remain until the owner removes them. An essential sign-in cookie protects access to the private statistics; it is not used to track public visitors. Failed owner sign-in attempts retain a hashed network identifier for rate limiting. Entries older than 24 hours are cleared when sign-in is next used.

Changes to this policy

Updates will be published on this page with a revised date. Material changes to how the app handles information will also be communicated in the app or its release information as appropriate.
